Safeguarding: Keeping your child safe
We also understand that families and carers might experience times of trauma or difficulty, that may mean they need extra support and help. We call this ‘early help’. If you feel that you would like to talk to someone in school about this, please speak to Mr Lewis, Miss Gee or Ms Lawrence. We may be able to help with emotional support and practical guidance, or we can signpost you to other agencies and organisations who may also be able to help.
We have consistent systems in place to ensure the children are safe, and to promote their emotional and physical well-being. For example, every year we teach the children the NSPCC ‘PANTs’ and 'Speak-Out, Stay-Safe' programmes and ensure that our PSHE curriculum covers topics such as ‘Respectful relationships’. Every school has a senior member of staff who is responsible for safeguarding and child protection matters affecting pupils at the school (the ‘Designated Safeguarding Lead’). In our school, this is;
Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mr Adam Lewis
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead: Miss Leah Gee
Nominated Safeguarding Governor: Mrs Maria Bairstow
